Presentor: Derrin Watson Recorded Date: 3/15/2016 Duration: 100 Min.

This program was recorded during a live presentation given on March 15, 2016 at 12:00PM EST.

As part of the year-end budget deal, Congress passed a new set of rules governing church plans. These rules govern a host of issues affecting qualified and 403(b) plans. This special 60 minute web seminar will cover the new law and what it means for the church plans you work with.

Topics include:

  • Church plan overview
  • Transfers and mergers between qualified and 403(b) plans
  • Changes to plan aggregation rules
  • Investment in group trusts
  • State law preemption for automatic enrollment
  • Limits for defined benefit 403(b) plans

There are no prerequisites or other advanced preparation for this program. The instructor will assume participants are familiar with the operation of qualified and 403(b) plans, in general, but will not assume familiarity with specific church plan rules. A minimum of two years of experience with retirement plans will be helpful.
