Duration: 60 Min.
Description
Under the regulations, a qualified plan must not discriminate in favor of highly compensated employees and this must be demonstrated each year by passing the appropriate compliance tests. These include the 410(b) coverage & average benefit percentage tests and the 401(a)(4) general test. But unlike the ADP and ACP tests, Relius Administration does not offer possible corrections when these tests fail. That’s where we can end up reversing, revising, re-posting and re-testing repeated contribution amounts. It can be a challenge to allocate a contribution in a way that satisfies the sponsor’s requirements and the code provisions. But that’s where the optimizer comes in.
In this session, we will:
- set up the plan and census to use the optimizer
- optimize contributions for all HCEs or specific employees
- optimize contributions for a class of employees
- optimize allocations of a specific dollar amount
- discuss the testing options available in the optimizing process
- use the optimizer to "solve" for contributions and allocations
- view available reports
