Morning & Afternoon Sessions

Partnership and Sole Proprietorships - Ideal Salary Calculations

Presenter: Mary Brown
Partnership and Sole Proprietor entities present special challenges for setup, calculating contributions, compliance testing and other issues. Mostly due to the use of Ideal Salaries rather than entered compensation for the partners and proprietors. In this session, we’ll look at these special steps and show how Relius can efficiently perform the needed calculations. The process works for determining contributions, compliance testing and even with the Optimizer.

Eligibility, Contributions, and Allocation Formulas
Presenter: Mary Brown
Description: Get a detailed look at the Allocations Requirements form in Plan Specifications and the relationship between Eligibility, Allocations Requirements and Formulas and Census data.

Working with Divisions
Mary Brown
Description: A division can be many things. From a simple location to an additional exclusion to a way of administering controlled groups and ASO’s. In this session, we’ll look at all of these and examine the process of working with divisions from setting them up and assigning the participants to processing transactions and running reports for one, some or all divisions. We’ll also look at how divisions can be used in our compliance testing.

Optimization Logic, Cross Tested Plans, and General Non-Discrimination Testing

Presenter: Mary Brown
Description: Are you still doing calculations outside of Relius Administration? With this new utility, you can simply enter a few parameters and Relius will compute the total employer contribution needed to optimize an allocation class, an HCE or a specific person or people at either the 415 limit or a specific dollar amount. During this session, we will review cross-testing and General Non-Discrimination testing. In addition, we will review the various test options.

What's Coming in Future Releases
Presenter: Mary Brown
Description: During this session, see what’s scheduled to be released for upcoming versions for both Defined Contribution and 125/Cafeteria. Maybe an enhancement request you entered previously is on the horizon.

Relius Efficiencies

Presenter: Mary Brown
Description: There are many efficiencies within Relius that could make your day-to-day tasks much easier. Review in this session some not-so-well-known or forgotten about options within Relius, such as new query reports, new reporting options in Report Writer, investment restrictions, email groups, and global options.

Mary Brown
Description: During this popular session, we will review the proper setup for loans in Plan Specification, Loan Specifications, and Employee Loan setup for new and takeover loans. Also, learn the different processing options for loan payments, how to adjust prior loan payments, as well as deemed distributions versus benefit offset. The session will also cover loan refinancing and re-amortization. Different reporting options will also be reviewed.

Open Discussion/Group Questions (if time permits)

The user group meeting is a great time to address issues or challenges that you've run into while working in Relius. If you have something specific, please submit your question or situation in advance to Jerri Olson (jerri.olson@fbdmn.com) so that the Relius trainer can be prepared to help you. We will address these as a group at some point during the day.
